II. Alanya Communication & Design Fest | April 16–18, 2025

HOME: Creating, Sharing, and Belonging Together

The second Alanya Communication and Design Fest, jointly organised by the Department of Communication and Design and the Department of Cartoon and Animation at Alanya University, took place on April 16–18, 2025, exploring the theme of "HOME".

Throughout the three-day festival, students, academics, children, and participants came together through creative design workshops, music, games, an exhibition, an open-air film screening, a talk, and a closing concert. The programme invited everyone to reconsider the meaning of home through creativity, shared experiences, communication, and a sense of belonging.

A festival designed to make us feel at home, while encouraging us to rethink the boundaries of what home can mean.

Daily Festival Schedule

Wednesday, April 16 – Friday, April 18, 2025

DAY 01 | APRIL 16, 2025 · WEDNESDAY

Colors & Flavors: Mahmutseydi Village

Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Venue: Mahmutseydi Village, Hamdullah Emin Paşa Primary School

On the first day of the festival, we visited Hamdullah Emin Paşa Primary School in Mahmutseydi Village and spent time with the children. Together, we designed T-shirts, shared creative experiences, and gathered around a communal table. Through these activities, we explored how a sense of home can be created through sharing, collaboration, and spending time together.

DAY 02 | APRIL 17, 2025 · THURSDAY

Home on Campus: Art, Games, and Cinema

Time: 3:00 PM – 9:30 PM

Venue: HEP Campus at Alanya Castle

On the second day, HEP Campus at Alanya Castle became a shared living space filled with art, music, games, and creativity. The day's activities continued with the opening of a student exhibition. In the evening, participants gathered in their pajamas for an open-air film screening, creating a cosy cinema experience with the warmth and familiarity of home.

DAY 03 | APRIL 18, 2025 · FRIDAY

Memories & Unity: Home and Communication

Time: Talk time not specified; park programme 5:30 PM – 10:00 PM

Venue: Alanya University and Şebnem Köseoğlu Park

The final day began with a talk on "Home and Communication" at Alanya University, exploring the relationship between communication, belonging, shared living, and the meaning of home. The festival then moved to Şebnem Köseoğlu Park, where participants came together for a closing programme filled with music and shared memories.
