Documentary Film Screening at the 44th Istanbul Film Festival
Assist. Prof. Dr. Cem Hakverdi, from our Communication and Design Department, co-directed the documentary Radio, My Love together with Prof. Dr. Özden Cankaya and Prof. Dr. Nazan Haydari Pakkan. The documentary was screened in the Documentary Section of the 44th Istanbul Film Festival on April 12–13.
The documentary defines radio broadcasting as an area of struggle and builds its story through the narratives of women who worked as radio broadcasters in the 1970s. The origin of the documentary is the oral history project titled “Women Radio Broadcasters in the History of Türkiye.”
